Best Cranberry Sauce

This Best Cranberry Sauce recipe is the perfect combination of sweet cranberry with a hint of cinnamon and orange.

So it begins, with the cold weather, cozy days spent inside, and the extra blankets placed on the bed for those extra cold mornings. Winter is a time for coziness and for rest. It a time to slow down. With any change of the season, the change in flavors, and what’s on our dinner tables. One of our favorite things to look forward to is these bright red cranberries that can’t be missed.

I normally toss a few bags into the cart and freeze extra for later in the season when they are gone. Mostly these cranberries are reserved for this Best Cranberry Sauce. Filled with much more flavor than those canned sauces.

I love making it as a side for the winter months since the cranberries are so readily available. This is the same cranberry sauce I use for this Shredded Chicken and Cranberry Sauce. It’s a delicious combination of both a sweet and savory style meal. Perfect for any winter night.

Zest orange over the pan. Cut the orange in half. Squeeze the juice into the pot (2 tbsp). If there isn’t enough juice for 2 tbsp, you can add 1 tbsp of water. Give the ingredients a stir. Add the lid onto the sauce pot and allow it to simmer on low for about 20 minutes on the stovetop or until the cranberries have broken down.
