With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to do something a little different. Something I could dedicate to my fellow mothers out there who daily strive to be their best for their children. Motherhood is unlike anything I have experienced in my life. It is a tremendous undertaking where days are long and hard. Some break your heart while others fill you with joy.
As mothers, we constantly question ourselves and our abilities but truly it is the heart of a mother that changes the world. I invite you to take a moment and enjoy the video. Share it with a friend or your mother. Every one of us could use some encouragement.

To Be A Mother
What is it like to be a mother? To surrender your heart to another soul. It is a love that is hard to put into words. A gift from a true King its riches are far more valuable than anything this world offers. To know that God hand-selected this being just for you and entrusted you with them. It is a precious offering, yet it is a position that comes with bearing incredible pain, hardships, heartache, and a surrendering of self that any of you who have ever felt this extraordinary love would bear again without a second thought.
What is it like to be a mother? To carry the future of the world within your womb? What could be more precious? To gaze into the eyes of an angel and for a moment feel the awesome power of God in your hands. I will never forget the moment her eyes met mine, I was in awe for the time in my life and as I gaze in them even now, I still am.
What is it like to be a mother? To be there from the very beginning of a life and to watch over that life with great care. To be the entire world to another and to feel their joy and pain as your own. Trying your best to keep just far enough away to allow for growth and independence. To know that one day we must release our hearts into the world.
What is it like to be a mother? To have a love that transcends, transforms, and asks of us all that we are. And still, we give. To have the ability to be gentle and strong at the same time it is our superpower.
To be a mother is to have the weight of the world on your shoulders and a love that makes life worth living. It means to take on suffering in exchange for the miraculous. It is the highest honor given.
Dear mothers out there, you are a light in this world.
