Whipped Tallow Body Butter Recipe
Make Whipped Tallow Body Butter With Me
As you might have realized by now that I am a big believer in natural remedies. This one seems too good not to share. Using rendered animal fat on your face and body might have sounded strange to me at one point in my life. But now that I use it, there is no going back. As you know if you read the post, My Natural Skincare Routine, I oil wash my face twice a day.
But in addition to that, I use beef tallow for moisturizing and for all the benefits of using tallow on the skin. Yes, you can use this on your face and décolletage area. I have even replaced my dry skin lotions that once lined the counter of my bathroom. I have noticed the skin on my feet is much softer now even after years of using specialty lotions designed for the skin on the feet. This stuff is the real deal. It works for so many of our skincare issues that I am happy to share it here with you.
Why I Love This Recipe
Of all the recipes for natural skincare on this site, whipped tallow body butter is something of a miracle cream. Of course, it takes the very best that natural skincare has to offer all blended up into a fluffy, yet rich nutrient-dense body butter.
A body butter that I use from head to toe. Mind you, when you make it, you might wonder how in the world anyone would use it on their face and neck. As the texture is thick, however, for this. I find that a little bit goes a very long way. I especially love to use this on my dry feet after exfoliating with a favorite sugar scrub. As well as on my décolletage area. All in all, it is a great natural skincare cream to add to your routine.
What is not to love about a skincare cream that can do all that? Yet one of the most impressive parts is the affordability of making such a powerful body butter. Purchasing high-quality natural-based skincare products can be expensive. The ability to be able to make them ourselves at home with the same level of quality is incredibly empowering.

Why Use Whipped Tallow Body Butter?
Tallow has amazing benefits for the skin. Traditionally used as a cooking fat it is quickly making its way into beauty products like this one. I have discussed here the benefits of oil washing on the face and yes, you can also use tallow for that as well.
It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, K and B12. Tallow has anti-inflammatory properties. It can repair damaged skin and improve its flexibility. It absorbs into the skin easily and is great for anti-aging but it is also safe for all skin types including children.
How To Use Whipped Tallow Body Butter
To use, you will only need a small amount. This whipped tallow body butter goes a long way. Rub it gently into the skin in a circular motion just as you would a regular lotion. It will absorb into the skin after a few minutes. I use this body butter daily on my hands, feet, arms, chest, and face as it is safe to use every day and as needed.
How To Store and Shelf Life
Storing this homemade whipped tallow body butter is easy. Find a jar with a lid preferably glass. So that there is no transfer of chemicals into your body butter over time. Some plastics have chemicals that can seep into items that are stored in them over longer periods of storage time. I find Mason jars to work well for this. Keep the jar in a cool dry place. Such as a hall closet or on top of your dresser.
This way it is in an area that has consistent temperatures. Your body butter will last up to 5 months. If wanting to keep it longer, you can also place the body butter in the fridge which will keep it fresh for up to one year. Keep in mind, that this will also harden the body butter. You will want it to come to room temperature before using it.
