Sharing is Caring

This Whipped Tallow Body Butter Recipe makes a creamy body butter that works well to moisturize and nourish the skin.

As you might have realized by now that I am a big believer in natural remedies. This one seems to good not to share. Using a rendered animal fat on your face and body might have sounded strange to me at one point in my life. But now that I do, there is no going back. As you know if you read the post, My Natural Skincare Routine, that I oil wash my face twice a day.

But in addition to that using beef tallow has been incorporated for moisturizing and for all the benefits listed below. I not only use this on my face but I also use it in place of a standard lotion now. I have noticed the skin on my feet is much softer after years of using specialty lotions for the feet that often disappointed. This stuff is the real deal. It works for so many of our skincare issues that I am happy to share it with you here.

Why Use Whipped Tallow Body Butter?

Tallow has amazing benefits for the skin. Traditionally used as a cooking fat it is quickly making it’s way into beauty products like this one. I have discussed here the benefits of oil washing on the face and yes, you can also use tallow for that as well.

It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, K and B12. Tallow has anti inflammatory properties. It can repair damaged skin and improve it’s flexibility. It absorbs into the skin easily and is great for anti aging but it is also safe for all skin types including children.

Benefits Of Tallow On the Skin Include

  • Helps fight signs of aging

Directions

In a double boiler (or bowl with sauce pot), combine the tallow with the raw cocoa butter until completely melted together. When melted, remove from the heat. Allow it to cool about 15 minutes. Add the coconut oil. Stir to combine. Place the bowl in the fridge to set.

This will only take a few minutes to do. Remove from the fridge when the mixture has set and is soft to the touch. Take the hand blender or mixer with the whip attachment and begin whipping until the tallow mixture is light and fluffy. This only takes about a minute or so. When whipped to a nice and fluffy consistency, it is ready. Transfer the body butter to a mason jar or a similar jar with a lid. Store in a cool dry place.

How To Use Whipped Tallow Body Butter

To use, you will only need a small amount. Remember, a little goes a long way. Rub it gently into the skin in a circular motion just as you would a regular lotion. It will absorb into the skin after a few minutes. I use this body butter daily on my hands, feet, arms, chest and face as it is safe to use every day and as needed.
