Natural Eye Cream Recipe
This Natural Eye Cream Recipe works well for moisturizing the skin around the eyes while providing anti-aging benefits.

Natural skincare and to be more specific, homemade natural skin care is magic! I started making my own homemade natural skincare products a few years ago. I was frustrated with overly priced “natural” products that just didn’t make my skin very happy. At the end of the day, I was using products that really weren’t as natural as they claimed and paying twice as much for them.
I decided to learn more about ingredients and items I could use at home that would yield me great results. I find that keeping a few essentials for homemade natural beauty products on hand. Gives me the ability to make them anytime I want. Whether that be a deep exfoliating sugar scrub or this natural eye cream.
I have just about every part of the body covered as far as moisturizing creams go. From a moisturizing Whipped Body Butter with Tallow to a Deep Conditioning Hair Mask. You’ll notice most at-home natural remedies found on this site are pretty straightforward to make. Many of them I find are even more effective than anything I have purchased in the store.
This one is enhanced with anti-aging ingredients like Vitamin E and a bit of lavender oil. This works to keep the skin around the eyes not only moisturized but to help ward off signs of aging.
Why Should I Use an Eye Cream?
Something that I know most of us asks at one point or another is why we even need eye cream at all. I mean especially when we use an all-over moisturizer on our faces as it is. It might seem like overkill to add another cream for the skin on the face. However, it is important to know that the skin around our eyes is much more delicate than the skin on the rest of the face.
The pores are smaller on this skin and it is also much more prone to showing signs of aging earlier as it has much thinner skin to boot. This is why adding a good quality eye cream like this Natural Eye Cream is a good idea. It is a little extra TLC for the face mind you and one that has anti-aging benefits added in.

They take about 30 min or so to fully set. Store in a cool dry place.

Vitamin E Benefits
Vitamin E is an incredible source for skincare and has been used in all sorts of cosmetic products for many years. Used on the skin Vitamin E is a great moisturizer that hydrates while allowing the skin to retain moisture. This works to keep the skin healthy over time and aids in a youthful glow. Vitamin E helps to minimize dark spots, dots, and sun spots on the skin’s surface. As an anti-aging ingredient Vitamin E works wonders to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
Overall softens the skin and evens helps to form a protective barrier from environmental stressors. This wonder oil is an antioxidant and when used for cosmetics a naturally sourced Vitamin E should only be used. This is the one I use Cliganic 100% Pure Vitamin E Oil.

Lavender Essential Oil Benefits
Many know that Lavender Essential Oil promotes calmness and is a gentle oil for diffusing. However, you might be surprised to learn that it also has many great benefits for the skin as well. Lavender Oil can aid in skin lightening since it reduces inflammation.
It can reduce discoloration including dark spots on the skin’s surface. It has also been known to promote the reduction of wrinkles in the skin and also lessen the effects of acne. You can find the lavender oil I use here Handcraft 100% Pure Lavender Essential Oil 4 oz.
Coconut Oil Benefits
Raw Coconut Oil is truly a wonder oil. I personally use it for cooking as a healthier oil and for my skin. I even use it to wash my face and you can learn more about my personal Natural Skincare Routine here. When used as a base for creams coconut oil helps to reduce inflammation, moisturizes the skin, and leaves it silky soft. It is great for people with skin conditions such as Eczema.
It’s emollient properties help to repair the skin. The fatty acids found in the coconut oil help to protect and nourish the skin. It even has antimicrobial properties which can kill bacteria on the skin. You can find my source for Raw Extra Virgin Coconut Oil here.
To Apply
Apply natural eye cream to clean skin using your ring finger as the applicator. Your ring finger is the weakest and works perfectly for gentle application on delicate skin. Wipe over the hood of the eye and under, making sure not to get in the eye. Use after washing your face in the morning and at night.
